Patrick's Blood is not Clotting Well

So..... I took Patrick to the ENT today. Everything was a go for surgery on Wednesday. We went to the Glenwood Medical Mall for blood work and then to the surgery center for paperwork. Around 4:00 we heard that his blood work was not the way they wanted it and they sent us to St. Francis North to redo it. Around 7:00 we heard from Dr. Danna and he told us that the blood test needs to be run again on Wednesday. He is expecting results around Monday and hopefully Patrick will be able to have his adenoids removed and tubes put in next week. Other than the bruises from blood work, Patrick seems to be feeling great.

March 19th ENT appointment

Today's appointment went well. The Dr. sucked puss off Patrick's adenoids and gave him a shot of rocephin. We are hopeful that next Tuesday he will be well and we will do blood work to prepare for removing his adenoids on Wednesday, March 25th.

Dr. Danna was Wonderful!

Today we took Patrick to see the ENT Doctor. He decided to have the needle biopsy first. When we get the results he will decide if Patrick needs to have his adenoids removed. Patrick is taking antibiotics and we are waiting for the call to let us know when the biopsy will take place.

Tuesday, He called Joel back and stated that after reviewing his chart, he would never have ordered the cat scan or suggested a biopsy. He believes that the swollen lymph node will go away after removing the adenoids. We are on a week of Cefprozil and then it is back to the ENT to make the final decision regarding adenoids. The appointment will be at 4:00 on March 19th.

It is now Friday and Patrick has steadily kept a fever of around 101 - 102 since Thursday. Nana kept Patrick and took him to Dr. Stanley. We have been switched to another medicine. Patrick has a yeast infection in his diaper and a runny nose with the fever. The ENT's nurse said it was o.k. to switch to the new medicine. I will be taking the Early Childhood praxis in the morning so Joel will be left to take care of the kids.

At 3:45 a.m. Patrick woke up with 104 fever. I was able to get him back to bed once it came down to 101. Patrick slept a couple hours and then the fever broke. It is now Sunday afternoon and Patrick is still fever free. His lymph node has swollen a good bit so we will be sure to show it to the ENT at his next appointment on Thursday.

An Event Filled Saturday

After playing all afternoon and attending the circus, we decided to play in the backyard. The weather was amazing. Joel mowed the yard and Morgan wanted to play in the jumping machine. This was Patrick's first time to really enjoy the jumper. Patrick is always climbing and falling down and Morgan is the first to pick him up and tell him it is o.k.

Patrick's check up with the ENT

Monday was our follow up visit with the ENT. We went back to him after ten days of Cedfinir in hopes that the lymph node had gone down. Not only did he say that the lymph node did not go down, but he said that both ears were full of puss and fluid. He sent us down the hall to do a hearing test and the test confirmed that he can not hear low sounds. They think this might be related to his limited vocabulary.

As for the lymph node, he thought that it might get better after tubes and removing his adenoids. But, it might not. So…. We feel like we still do not have answers and we are going to see Dr. Rick’s Tuesday.

Tuesday I took Patrick to see Dr. Rick's. After a long conversation I was able to get some answers. The cat scan showed that Patrick needs to have tubes and his adenoids removed. While he is having it done he can have the lymph node biopsied. We will decide tomorrow which Dr. to use and make the appointment.

Wednesday, March 3rd, I called the ENT to make the appointment to do all three at the same time. The lady I spoke to made it very easy for me to decide against using Barham. It had just been one thing after another with him and his staff. so..... I called Dr. Danna today and made an office visit for Monday, March 3rd. Dr. Danna will examine him and decide if he wants to do the tubes, adenoids and biopsy.

Patrick the Dare Devil

We came into Morgan's room today and found Patrick standing in her rocking chair. We are sure there is much more of this to come!
Thursday Patrick had a low fever of about 101.4 By Friday he was better. We feel that it might just be teething. We are crossing our fingers.

Morgan the Dancer!

Saturday I took Morgan to ULM to watch the Totally Tumbling Exhibition Group perform. Once we arrived I found out that they were performing during half time of the Ladies Basketball game. We stayed and Morgan watched her first live Basketball game. She enjoyed it and told me that she does not want to play basketball when she grows up. She insisted that she will be a dancer, cheerleader or gymnastics person. As soon as we arrived home she wanted to perform like the girls she watched.

A Sad Week

So..... Aunt Theresa suddenly died of a heart attack last week. Her funeral was beautiful and extremely sad. Aunt Theresa left behind so many people who need and love her. We will all be strong and work hard together to continue her love.
When I told Morgan about Aunt Theresa she began covering her eyes and sobbing. She said no... we will only see Papa Tom at Aunt Theresa's house now. A little later she asked me if Aunt Theresa could sit at the edge of her bed when it is time to go to sleep and help her have good dreams. It broke my heart and I told her yes. Later that same day I picked up Marsala and rode her and Morgan down the street in the wagon. When we stopped Morgan looked up, pointed into the sky and said she saw her angel, Aunt Theresa.
We love you Aunt Theresa!!!
