Saturday Patrick began running a fever of 104. His lymph node under his left ear was swollen and his nose began to run. Sunday morning Joel took Patrick to Dr. Ricks. He left with a shot of rocephin and ten days of antibiotics. Today is Monday and Patrick seems to be feeling just fine. The remainder of the week went well. On Friday Joel brought Patrick to the ENT. Dr. Barham scheduled a cat scan at St. Francis North for next Wednesday morning and then a follow up appt. with him on two days later on Friday. He was concerned and wants to take a closer look at his swollen lymph node.
Wednesday we arrived at St. Francis North at 7 a.m. and we were released around 12:15 to go home. Patrick had a double dose of sedation and his veins blew about ten times before they were able to get the iv in. Although Patrick had several bruises, he seemed to do very well.
Joel took Patrick to Dr. Barham for results. We were given two weeks of antibiotics, Omnicef 125 mg. In two weeks Dr. Barham wanted to see Patrick to look at the lymph node. If swelling does not go down he wanted to remove the lymph node and then do a biopsy on it. The cat scan showed that he had a sinus infection, an ear infection and the lymph node was 2 cm. Patrick was been fever free for 13 days!!!!
